KOREA!!!!

Do you think America is leading in technology? or specifically Cell Phone Technology?
Well, we are actually not. Korea has made it that everything they need can be accessed on their phones. Wouldn't it be nice if we had everything we need in our cell phone?

Shim Gi-tae says,“We want to bring complex bits of daily life — cash, credit card, membership card and student ID card, everything — into the mobile phone,” said Shim Gi-tae, a mobile financing official at SK Telecom, the country’s largest wireless carrier. “We want to make the cellphone the center of life.”

With thoughts like that, they already have things in their phones we want. Years ago, i always wanted a front camera to talk to people and see their faces. Korea had that along time ago. We are just getting it and it is only on the new SMART phones and with only similar phone services. Koreans are able to talk to each other and see the face of the person they are talking to. The cool thing is, it doesn't need to be on the same service. You can see anyone anywhere!

A korean Statistic majors life in her hands.

Phones, across the world.

Let me ask you guys a straight question. It doesn't matter if your a student, professor, lawyer, musician. Do you think, that phones exist in the poor countries we never pay attention to? for example Kenya. Do you think they have the technology or the money to use these things. Of course other well set countries use them without worries. They become attached to us without us knowing it even. Cellphones are only for communication.

In Kenya, These people use cellphones to kill time. Boredom of course, is often found in area's that do not give much choice of entertainment. But with cellphones, people are able to access music, news, radio talks. Instead of carrying such a big radio, the cellphone allows them to carry something small, but used in so many more ways.

What do we use it for? calling? texting? surfing the web? We don't know it, but people around the world would die for something so simple to listen to music as they work in the fields to support family members. We don't really take for granted that we have these devices. An average person will break a Cellphone that cost 300$ in about a year-2years. How long do you think someone who cherishes a cellphone keep something like a flip phone for? Forever.

this website has interesting information.

Nokia N900 the phone of 2 years ago... but its a computer?

Nokia N900- The phone as a block i must admit. But for a block, it can do alot more than call or text. The Nokia N900 is a mobile computer. you are able to access terminal, dual boot OS's, Overclock your CPU, play games that take 3D graphics. the phone starts out with 600mhz in a single core processor (overclocked to 1156mghz), 256 MB RAM, 768 MB swap, quad-band GSM/GPRS and ARM Cortex-A8.

The most special thing about this phone, is that it runs Maemo 5, a firmware created solely for this phone. To be exact it has Linux built into it. But linux is a OS made for computers. Well the Nokia N900 is able to download and use debian (a interface of windows) and allows controls over CMD.

Of course you can't forget that it allows you to boot into an Andriod OS, or stream movies anywhere. The phone comes with built in adobe 10 which lets you stream videos unlike the other phones that came out during the Nokia N900's release.

So college students tend to bring a Laptop to school. Instead of carrying a 10lb laptop bring something that fits into your jean pocket. The phone is able to open PDF files which majority of your college text books can be found online. Also the phone has Microsoft Word processing in it, allowing you to type an essay. oh texting an essay would be hard, but a micro usb, keyboard is connectable.

Texting competition! LOL

Epic, who would have thought that now a competition of text is in the light? it has been going on for 5 years (since the video has been uploaded in 2009) now and the prize pool is 50grand. So we say that technology has nothing to do with our daily lives, but for Kate Moore: she just got 50,000$ Think about the changes of what 50,000$ could do for a teen? We say technology doesn't have that great of an impact, but take a look at the video. Small things eventually build up and now the technological advancements have gotten somewhere with phones.

Texting competitions have started out, hackers have found a new home also. Special groups, are organized and specifies in creating loop holes (cracked versions) of Operating system for the average every day person to get things for free. Although, it is illegal to do, almost everyone does this.

So we don't think that these things are important to us, but eventually our kids will be in this generation. And as scary as it seems, one of our children may end up being in a texting competition or even becoming so dependent on phones that we rarely see them. Imagine your kids text you what they need, rather than just going downstairs to talk to you directly. It seems that we may end up seeing less and less of each others face eventually.

Phone Of The Year!

HTC EVO 3D
credit to photography

HTC Evo 3d, This phone comes with 720p. It comes with a dual 5 megapixel colored camera. The back Camera is also to capture 3d in 2 mega pixel. Snapdraggon 1.2ghz Dual Core processor (able to over clock to 1.83ghz). The phone also comes with Adreano 220gpu overclockable to 320gpu: 1GB of RAM. Of course the most important, is that the  evo 3d comes with Android 2.3.x gingerbread.

An average Laptop people tend to buy, usually comes with a 2.2 dual core processor, built in Intel graphics card, 2-4GB RAM. Built in front camera for video chatting and mic.

Now if we think about it, the overclocked evo 3d (1.83ghz dual) is almost as close as the 2.2ghz dual core processor. Imagine walking around with a mobile device, that can do everything at the size of about ur jeans pocket. That saves you from carrying a  6-10lb laptop around that gets in the way sometimes. Of course, unless your a hard core gamer-, but why would you have a low end laptop anyways if your a gamer?

Cell Phones have become a part of our daily lives and it seems that the mobile devices can soon take over laptops. Well it won't litterally take over, but it will be able to do just as much. The effect it has impacted on our lives is huge. We have become dependent on these mobile devices. We are so dependent on the phones that, some people feel a sense of emptiness when they don't have the device with them.
